Collaboration between Jenny Brockmann and artists Julia Brunner, Stefan Endewardt, Michelle-Marie Letelier, Nika Radić, RIXXA Wendland / Martin Remus, Anna Weusmann, Jo Zahn.
The project HITZE/HEAT, was collaborative project initiated by Jenny Brockmann and addressed “heat” from different perspectives as social temperature, atmospheric form, as an area of high pressure of the in between, as a melting of genre boundaries, as a reflow of relationship networks. It addressed the fact that ‚heat‘ is a physical phenomenon that appears subjective and objective at the same time and is not only associated with the physical perception of high temperatures. The project HITZE/HEAT took place in the award-winning project space “Kotti-Shop,” Berlin, run by Julia Brunner and Stefan Endewardt. The art of Kotti-Shop/SuperFuture, which is developed together with the neighbors, is process-oriented, closely connected to the urban environment and pursues an emancipatory claim. The project HEAT featured an expansive installation by Jenny Brockmann, an artist talk, and a “Songs of Heat‘ evening, among other things. The photo and film series mirage depicted a mirage [1] that Jenny Brockmann shot in Summer 2022 in the North African Sahara Desert.
[1] A mirage is a light reflection that deceives humans in existential circumstances. It represents the reversal of processes where humans are deceiving nature, e.g. Light pollution causes animals to be drawn into dangerous situations and die, and waste causes animals and plants to digest toxins and become sick.
