The exhibition The Visible and the Perceptible is the first presentation of Jenny Brockmann’s works in Poland.

Inspired by sociological and philosophical theories, Brockmann transfers interpersonal interactions and processes that are taking place in the body to spatial situations. In the works shown in the exhibition, she explores the relationship between body and consciousness in various ways.

Brockmann’s works invite the viewer to gain a new perspective on one’s partially unconscious behaviors and to reflect on familiar automatisms from a different angle. By breaking down our physicality into primary factors and analyzing the individual functions and activities of the body, Brockmann emphasizes the material aspect of being human and how our being in the world is directly connected to the body.
